Description
The DCJS Firearms Instructor Development 14E course is a 40-hour approved Virginia DCJS alternative training program designed to prepare qualified individuals to become certified Firearms Instructors in Virginia.
This course covers firearms safety, range operations, instructional development, firearms qualification procedures, coaching techniques, and Virginia DCJS firearms regulations.
Prerequisite
Students may enroll in this course prior to completing the DCJS General Instructor Development (13E) course; however, students cannot become certified as a DCJS Firearms Instructor until the 13E General Instructor course has been successfully completed.
Ammunition Requirements
- 150 rounds handgun ammunition
- 50 rounds revolver ammunition
- 50 rounds shotgun ammunition
Total Ammunition Requirement:
250 rounds combined
No reloads or steel-core ammunition permitted.
